The Broker

The last friend was Critz, an old fraternity pal from their days at Cornell when Morgan ran the student government while Critz stuffed the ballot boxes. In the past four years, Critz had served as press secretary, chief of staff, national security advisor, and even secretary of state, though that appointment lasted for only three months and was hastily rescinded when Critz's unique style of diplomacy nearly ignited World War III. Critz's last appointment had taken place the previous October, in the final frantic weeks of the reelection onslaught. With the polls showing President Morgan trailing badly in at least forty states, Critz seized control of the campaign and managed to alienate the rest of the country, except, arguably, Alaska.

It had been a historic election; never before had an incumbent president received so few electoral votes. Three to be exact, all from Alaska, the only state Morgan had not visited, at Critz's advice. Five hundred and thirty-five for the challenger, three for President Morgan. The word "landslide" did not even begin to capture the enormity of the shellacking. Once the votes were counted, the challenger, following bad advice, decided to contest the results in Alaska. Why not go for all 538 electoral votes? he reasoned. Never again would a candidate for the presidency have the opportunity to completely whitewash his opponent, to throw the mother of all shutouts. For six weeks the President suffered even more while lawsuits raged in Alaska. When the supreme court there eventually awarded him the state's three electoral votes, he and Critz had a very quiet bottle of champagne.

I Love You But My Parents Say No

A friend of mine once called me from a long distance and we spoke for hours (and I mean that literally). We were on the phone for about two hours. Usually, when people call me from a long distance and for a long time like that, it’s usually about a relationship issue.  Now, the issue here was this; he was in love with this lady and he wanted to marry her but his parents were against the whole idea so he was confused about what to do. I’m sure many of you can identify with this situation. If it hasn’t happened to you, it has happened or is happening to someone you know. Click Here To Download The Book

Small Business Big Money

No one is telling you that as an entrepreneur, the odds are stacked against you. You are more likely to fail than succeed. I don’t care what your pastor or motivational speaker told you. You are more likely to fail than succeed. Researchers have come to the conclusion that 90% of businesses will fail. You know what that means? Click Here To Download The Book

The Purpose And Power Of Praise And Worship

Man’s ability to fulfill his purpose and to be all God intended him to be is predicated on the requirement that he obey the principles God established when He created human beings. Why is this true? God is a God of principles. Everything He created was established to operate by certain principles that guarantee its proper function. This pattern in creation includes human beings. We were created to operate by principles that God established before He created us. These principles or rules of operation for human beings are found throughout the Bible, although they are not always referred to as principles. They may also be referred to as God’s laws, ordinances, precepts, statutes, commands, commandments, decrees, instructions, word, and ways. Although the meaning of each of these words carries a slightly different nuance from the others, they all carry within them the basic concept of a principle, which is a law that is established to preserve and protect a created thing and to assure its ...

Single, Married, Separated, And Life After Divorce

My secretary buzzed to say my next appointment had arrived. I walked to the door to meet and welcome the person who, up to that moment, had been only a name in my appointment book. A beautiful young lady dressed neatly and smartly walked in and sat down. She suddenly blurted out, “I can’t take it anymore. I am tired of being single. I need a mate now. I am growing older, and life is passing me by. What’s wrong with me? Why does no man want me? I must be ugly. There must be something wrong with me. I feel like killing myself. Please help me!” Those words were not strange to me—I had heard them many times. Over the years I have had to help thousands of individuals find their balance and review their concepts of life. So I shared with her the “myth of singleness.” Click Here To Download The Book

The Leadership Secrets Of Billy Graham

When you hear the name Billy Graham, do you think first of his leadership? Most of us do not. We recall his preaching to vast crowds in stadiums. We see the gracious television guest, appearing with hosts from Johnny Carson and David Frost to Larry King and Barbara Walters—always responding with gentle wisdom, explaining the gospel, but humbly admitting his own limitations. We remember his leading the nation in dramatic times of grief, or helping inaugurate presidents, but more as national pastor than leader. Click Here To Download The Book

Understanding The Purpose And Power Of Men

The crisis we are seeing today is actually a contemporary version of an age-old dilemma. Men and women alike lost their concept of what it truly means to be human—male and female—a long time ago. The problem is also not confined to particular cultures. The question of identity is a global problem. I have traveled to many nations, and I have concluded that most of the world is suffering from what I call the ―consequences of ignorance of purpose.‖ In every nation, in every community, no matter what language the citizens speak or what color their skin is, people are experiencing a common dilemma. They are suffering the debilitating effects of a misconception of purpose. They don‘t understand who they really are and therefore aren‘t living up to their full potential in life. Secret Of The Millionaire Mind

We live in a world of duality: up and down, light and dark, hot and cold, in and out, fast and slow, right and left. These are but a few examples of the thousands of opposite poles. For one pole to exist, the other pole must also exist. Is it possible to have a right side without a left side? Not a chance.  Consequently, just as there are “outer” laws of money, there must be “inner” laws. The outer laws include things like business knowledge, money management, and investment strategies. These are essential. But the inner game is just as important. An analogy would be a carpenter and his tools. Having top-of-the-line tools is imperative, but being the top-notch carpenter who masterfully uses those tools is even more critical. Click Here To Download The Book
