Fromthis point Maria began her whole-hearted pursuit of God and she heard almost immediately His calling voice to the work of evangelism. She couldn’t imagine this however since she was a woman and so assumed the call would have to wait until she married a missionary. Her plans on how she would position herself for this included going away for a formal education in ministry where she would inevitably meet and marry the man who would make her obedience complete. When tragedy struck her family with her father’s death these plans were put on hold and feared never to be lived out. Forced to seek work away fromhome to help support the family of eight children she would mourn her father’s death and the loss of her hopes for ministry working in a stranger’s kitchen. She was painfully homesick and buried herself in God’s Word committing verses to memory as she worked.

The Laws Of Prosperity

To prosper in your soul, you must be able to control your mind, your will and your emotions. Just because you have accumulated large amounts of knowledge does not mean that your mind is prosperous. Prosperity of the mind comes when you use the knowledge that has been accumulated—when you are controlling your mind instead of your mind controlling you. Second Corinthians 10:5 says we are to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (or against the Word of God), bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Four Keys To Hearing God's Voice

We are going to make something that has been very hard, very simple. I could not hear God’s voice for the first ten years of my Christian life, and now I have spent 30 years teaching the Body of Christ how to do so. It is as simple as quieting yourself down, fixing your eyes on Jesus, tuning to spontaneity, and writing! And all Christians can do it! You can do it! Jesus promised, “My sheep hear My voice” (John 10:27). So you can hear His voice. His voice sounds like spontaneous thoughts that light upon your mind, especially as your heart is fixed on Him. And you can do this every day as part of your morning devotions. You can live out of His voice all day, by simply seeing Him alongside you (He is Immanuel, God with you), and staying tuned to spontaneity all day long.
